Arlo HomeKit option doesn’t discover base

I just bought and set up a new Arlo base station and 4 cameras. Unfortunately, there was no QR code for HomeKit on the base or documentation. I followed the website instructions that state to use the HomeKit option in settings under the base station... however, I get a blank discovering your device screen that never seems to discover anything. I have the latest firmware and base station VMB4500r2. I tried rebooting, setting my phone directly next to my base station, and restating the app. Anyone have some ideas?
