Has anyone seen the permisions the app update wants ? I took three screen shots but I can't get them here for some reason .

Everything was going fine , I really like my new Arlos . But now I find they (Netgear) want to move into my phone and go through all my drawers .

Yup. Access to Contacts was added to Location, Microphone, Phone and Storage, right?

I take it you can't individually deselect access permissions?

The other changes are interesting though.

I see the following:

  • Four battery bars (up from three) on the Camera page.
  • A percentage reading for battery power and Wifi signal strength for wire-free cameras on their Settings page. Wow.
  • A camera on/off button on a camera's Settings page.
  • A geofencing mode on the Mode page.
  • Fingerprint ID to log into the app.

Other changes according to the version info:

  • ArloQ Plus support (the new Arlo Q variant with PoE (Power over Ethernet) and local video storage to a memory card), due to be released on 5/23/16,
  • Youtube/Facebook sharing with some added Edit options,
  • IFTTT media sort implemented in the library.

I cannot find this feature in the new Arlo update.

I only see Camera On/Off on my ArloQ and not on the Wireless ones.

Also how does geofencing handle if 2 devices are setup using it? ie. I leave for work before the missus, so it will arm the camera when I leave whilst my wife is still in the house?

I've removed all permissions from Arlo except for Location and Microphone.... let's see if it has any issues.

You must go to a camera's Settings page.

Settings -> My Devices -> <One_of_your_cameras>
