The grid view of recordings appears to have gone in favour of a list view. This means it is now much more difficult to glance at recordings and pick out clips to view.

Filtering cameras to view has been buried a further level down in the menu system.

There is still no IFTTT support despite customers repeatedly asking for it, whereas competitors embrace this.

There appears to have been no attempt to sort out the woefully bad motion detection. For example, it is almost completely incapable of picking up moving vehicles. If someone wants to burgle my house, they simply need to reverse a large lorry up to my front door as I guarantee that Arlo will not see it.

This is a style over substance make over that adds nothing and removes usability. Nice fonts and a shiny interface do not equate to a good user experience when the basics are so badly wrong. If I hadn't dropped over £500 on this system I would give up with it.

Given that I'm stuck with it now I can only hope someone from Netgear who actually cares about what their paying customers think reads the feedback on here and in their forums and tries to sort this mess out. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no faith in Arlo / Netgear to do this.

coldcuppatea,

Many changes to the UI were made to provide a more streamlined user friendly interface. For more information on these changes, take a look at the following article: New Arlo App: A Quick Guide to New Features

Your feedback on these changes is appreciated and I will make sure we provide this feedback to the product manager.

Thanks for the reply, and I do hope you pass this feedback (and all the other feedback that people have provided) to the developers. However, the app is most certainly not more user friendly. I've hardly touched it since updating it whereas I used to scan through the recorded clips every day. I've looked at the change log you linked to, and I just don't think it was put together by someone who actually uses the app on a daily basis. How on earth is the list view a change that makes it easier to see recorded clips than thumbnails? I have to scroll down twice to see the same as I could at a glance before.

Sure, it LOOKS nicer, but it is NOT nicer to use. Honestly, I'm gutted at how much I've spent on this product considering the dreadful motion detection and poor software support 😞
