is there a way to use the ARLO app on 2 different phones or laptops signed on simultaneously?

You can install the App as many devices you want but not simultaneously when accessing.. if you try it.. the other device will be logged out..

Create a "friend" using a different email address. The main account can be logged in and shouldn't be logged out when the friend connects.

Yes, Creating a Friend will be a good alternative but it will be limited as per Admin Rights.... be careful if privacy is important to you too... If not then it's a perfect solution to simultaneously access different devices..
