My arlo app on my iphone 6 quit working. It said "updating" under the app for a couple of hours, then it said "waiting" for several hours. Now the app icon is shaded dark and nothing happens when i touch it. I have tried to delete it from the iphone by the normal method, (touch the app for a few seconds til they all start shaking, then touch the "X" to delete it.) But the app does not delete. I went to the app store and found the app and it says "Open" but when i touch the "Open" button nothing happens. My iphone works fine with everything else, I don't know what to try next. I will appreciate any help....

Dear JamesC
Thanks for your suggestion. Before I heard from you I reset my iphone to factory default and restored to a backup dated before I ever had Arlo. Then I went to the app store and downloaded arlo fresh again. This worked well except I lost alot of texts because the backup I restored to was from 2014. However, it seems that my phone contacts all restored OK and i have arlo working again so I'm good.
Thanks for your advice though, if I get in this situation again I will try your alternate delete suggestion.
Thanks!!

Try restarting the phone first and delete as soon as it's back up.

Thanks for your advice. I turned off my iphone 6, then turned it back on. Then I immediately tried to delete the Arlo app by holding my finger on the app until all the apps were shaking and had an "X" in their upper left hand corner. But the Arlo app did not have an "X" in its upper left hand corner for a few seconds, although all the other apps did have the "X". When the Arlo app icon did show an "X" I tried to delete it but it did not delete. Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately it did not fix my problem. Thanks though for trying to help!

Sorry, you need to have an iOS user for more suggestions. That's not me.

tomsteiner,
It sounds like something is corrupted in the installation. Try this alternative path to delete the app.
Settings > General > Storage & iCloud usage > Manage Storage > select the Arlo mobile App and delete.
After the app has been deleted, try a fresh install from the App Store.
