I have 3 cameras. One in the living room, one pointed out a front window, and one pointed out a back window. The one in the living room senses motion fine. The 2 pointed out the windows aren't sensing motion. I armed them, and mowed the lawn, and neither one picked me up. I didn't pay $350 to have cameras that don't work! And, yes, I tried changing the sensitivity higher and lower.
Arlo cameras DO NOT sense thru window glass as the glass refects IR so will not record unless manually started ... which is how the sensor works by detection of IR. They are meant to be installed outside which is why they are weatherproof.
The Arlo Q cams use pixel change ( change in actual view ) to sense motion and WILL WORK thru glass ( but you can't use the IR illuminators as it will refect back washing out the picture )

No problem here in Rochester, NY with below 0 temps. Battery life may suffer, though.

Is there a possibility that some sort of software processing like Pixel Q could be updated in the software of the Arlo Pro to allow for motion detection behind windows? Besides this one item, this device is pretty much perfect. I love the portability. I love the alarm. The software is well thought out. I can run these camera's without the night vision, and the picture is sufficiently good for security purposes. Our house has big windows, with a good field of view, which negates the need to mount the cameras outside. I would prefer to be able to manage the devices within the convenience of my own home - without the need of a ladder.
Thanks,
Jeremy
