Most of your users will only have one Base Station. Why do we have to select the Base Station every time we have to change Mode. If there is only one Base Station then skip this step. Make your interface more efficient.
We change modes every time we leave and return to the house to switch indoor cameras on/off. I am guessing this is the case for many of your users. Changing modes should be easy. It should be a simple one touch widget. If you can't do a widget you can at least make your application interface more efficient.

Rather than thinking your own idea is a good idea, you may be better suited posting a request in the " submit an idea " area ..... More kudos equal a better chance of fruition
