What does the sun icon do?

While watching live, there is a sun icon with adjusting slide. It doesn't seem to do anythig. What's it for?

The "sun" icon changes the iris level for a bright room or dark room.... 

Exp. a sunny room, turn the "sun"  down, and hit the save ( check mark ) before exit.  You'll see the brightness of the image change.

I think there are only 4 settings on the slider bar.

And don't forget to click on the green checkmark in a circle after you make a brightness adjustment or the change won't take effect.
