Proof is in the pudding………

I have well documented and tested the motion detection problem with this system .  After upgrading my home security system yesterday,  the severity of the Arlo motion detection to recording was caught by my door bell camera.  The doorbell camera has similar features:  motion detection, record on motion, night vision, its’ about half the size of the Arlo Camera.  One feature that it does have is the ability to listen and talk to subjects at my door step without opening the door.

Anywho…

Without even thinking about it, I get two alerts on my smart phone.  I recognize the Arlo alert, the second alert had me reaching for my smart phone.  Low and behold it was an alert from my home security system notifying me that the doorbell camera detected motion. ( I went to the front door to see if my morning paper was there, which triggered the motion).

I continue on my normal routine without looking at the video capture from my door bell camera.  I get to my office and watch both videos and was SHOCKED by what I saw:

Hula_Rock, have you tried pointing the camera to the right a bit, to where you don't get so much of your garage door or the brick above it?

I have a camera pretty much in the same location pointed at my driveway but on the opposite side and that camera seems to do a decent job picking up motion. It's not always perfect but good enough for me. I do agree though, the lag can be dissapointing at times.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I have tried 10 different locations on the front of my house with various heights and angles,  this was the absolute best location that I found .  I have also tried using a third camera that Netgear sent me to use as a motion trip which also failed.
