Are you getting videos? If so, enable app notifications to see if you get those which should be instantaneous. It's also possible your ISP may be blocking the emails or they're in your spam folder. Emails have been working better for a little while now. I got some today in a timely manner.

Yeah, I don't really expect that the ISP is blocking but it apparently has been known to happe.  There have been recent issues with delayed emails but that seemed to be related to also being delayed videos in the library. Since you're seeing the videos, either the two weren't related or something else is happening.

Sorry, got nothing for ya...

Anthonyg,

If you have your e-mail address confirmed and you have checked your rules to make sure e-mail alerts are enabled for all of your cameras that you wish to send alerts it could be that your ISP is blocking the e-mails. Consider contacting your ISP to confirm if e-mails from Arlo are being blocked.

You could also test by adding a different e- mail address to your rules and see if alerts are sent to the alternate e-mail address.

I too stopped receiving email alerts. I'm still getting notifications. I tried changing my email address, and received alerts. So it's got to do with my original email address.

Here is what I have learned. I switched email service providers a couple of months ago (retaining the same email address), and to the best of my memory, that more-or-less corresponds to when I stopped receiving Arlo emails. I am using Google as my email manager, and using their advanced interface (Email Log Search), I was able to confirm that no emails are being received from Arlo. So this is not a spam issue.

I am confident that the problem is caused by Arlo caching some information about my former email service provider. I tried cycling the power on the Arlo router/hub, but no improvement.

It's an Arlo bug. The only remedy that I know of is to use a different email address.

If an alternate email address is working, this indicates the email alerts are being blocked by your email provider or being filtered into a spam folder. Consider checking this with your email provider.

Thanks for the reply, JamesC, but I don't think you read my post carefully. The emails are not arriving, period. They are not being filtered and they are not blocked. This information comes from the experts at gmail.

It's an Arlo bug.

Suddenly im now receiving email alerts 6 months later....seems Arlo fixed the issue after this post. Why dont you guys just admit there was an issue instead off blaming servers.

Because it wasn't a Netgear problem? If emails weren't going out on a regular basis, there would have been a lot more screaming and roaring than from one or two people.

Like Anthonyg, emails are now working again for my original address. This is a change since my original post of a week ago. So after an outage of several months, email alerts are working for this particular address. I have had no problem with receiving Arlo emails sent to addresses in a different domain.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I changed my email provider ISP a few months ago, probably coincident with the failures. Arlo sends emails through an email relay server in the amazonses.com domain. My suspicion is that that email relay server had cached information about my former email provider, and it has now finally updated that information. So technically, it may not be an Arlo bug, but since emails sent by Arlo were not arriving, it represents a failure in the system, and it sure looks like an Arlo bug.

As an aside, one other person mentioned to me that emails that he sent to me over the past few months had bounced, although they are now being delivered. So perhaps his failure and Arlo's are related (same relay server?). I should add that I have received hundreds of emails over this period of time, so generally emails sent to me are being delivered.
