I cannot get reasonable sensitivity on either of my 2 Arlo cameras.  Both are the wire free versions.  Both cameras are located less than 25' away from the areas I want to monitor.

The indoor camera is about 7' off the floor and a clear view of my entire living room.  I walk right in front of it less than 15' away and maybe one out of 10 times does the motion detection work when armed.

The outdoor location is in a tree aimed directly at my back door.  Out of 20 attempts, the motion detection worked once and it was no where near my back door.  It does not work at all at my back door.

Ideas and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hard to get through to anyone at tech support.

The PIRs really only have a max range of about 20ft for people... I use about max 10-13 ft to my targets where able and in door ways it is much less as the person enters

Motiion detection is bad. I'm at 100% on both. One in the back of my house facing the Alley, one on the front facing the front door.

  1. When the FedEx driver comes it doesn't show him pulling up or even walking to my front door, It only shows him leaving.
  2. Cars going theough the Alley are not picked up until they are 50 ft away.

Can I adjust this?

From what I have read both in the manual and via responses within the Arlo Community, the motion detection only works from 10-15 feet away AND only perpendicular to the direction the camera is aiming.  I have yet to be able to troubleshoot the issue with a customer service tech.

My motion detection does work, but only within these guidelines.

Those are the general limitations.  You may be able to do better in certain circumstances, worse in others.
