It has to be an age thing as i am usually quite good with new technology, however, i can't for the life of me get the Arlo to do the simplest task .
All i want it to do is pick up motion and record for 10 seconds and save those recording. I do not want any ntification sent yet no matter what i have tried it seems to go to extreems
I have set it up to pick up motion and the rules show the paper plane as being out. I get messages every time it gets movement. I have tried with n motion and i have tried with the weekly planner, this did nothing in the hours i put for it to detect motion it did not record a single one and it was set from 10pm to 7am.
Please can someone walk me through the task before i pick a window for it to go through 🙂
Many thanks

Start with Settings, Rules. Based on what you've said, you don't really need new rules, just modify what's there for each camera to turn off emails by making sure the "Send email alert" is a black checkmark. If you make any changes, be sure to Save at each step.
Now check Modes just above Rules. All Motion Off should have black checkmarks for each camera and the airplane should be gray. All Motion On should have green checkmarks for the cameras and gray airplanes. Be sure to Save after making modifications.
When these are ready, go to Mode from the main menu (along with Library, Camera,Settings). For testing purposes, turn off the schedule and enable All Motion Off by clicking on the checkmark for it. Verify that nothing happens - no emails, no videos. Do the same thing for All Motion On - no emails but you do get videos. If this isn't working properly, go to Cameras and check the status of the running men. They should be gray when not enabled (All Motion Off) and green when ready to record (All Motion On). They should turn red when recording.
If everything checks out, you should be up and running. Enable the schedule and drag the All Motion on to the top of each day (midnight). Drag All Motion Off to the bottom of the green area of All Motion On and follow that up with another All Motion On. Move the bars that separate the different modes to set the times you prefer. Complete this for all days and be sure to Save.
It's all about rules and modes. It does take an Arlo mindset to get things right - not hard but can be a bit unusual. I have no idea how it could be changed to something else since it suddenly becomes intuitive once you get the hang of it. Start with rules, go to modes and then set the schedule. A big thing that folks sometimes forget is to Save - ALWAYS look for Save at each step to be safe.

In the RULES for each camera you have a slider bar to adjust the amount up to 2 mins.
Go to SETTINGS / RULES / hit pencil to edit, adjust time for record, save upon exit
