Few issues with scheduling. (using iOS app)
1) When I try to update the schedule I get an error message every time "Failed to update schedule (Invalid message syntax.) Try again. Can this be fixed?
2) Should the schedule ever work, I can't see a way to still manually set the motion detection on/off. Its like, either you do it manually, or you let the schedule do it, but thats it. No option to use both simulatiously? For example I want my cameras to turn on every night at a certain time, and off every morning at a certain time...but I want to be able to set them manually when I know no one will be in the house (which is not always at the same time). Is there a way to do this?

Maybe telling us the settings for the rules as well as the schedule would help.

As of today, I cannot get the times in the scheduler to stick. I change them and hit "accept" and then is just goes right back to showing the default times. It will not hold the changes. What is going on?

pelsass,
Are you updating the schedule via the WebUI or on a mobile device? Kindly provide either the browser version or your mobile device OS and version. This will allow us to try to replicate the issue on our end.
Looking forward to your response.

Using WebUI - IE 11 - I can't seem to get the scheduler to work at all. I pick up motion and record it even when I've selected motion off on all cameras. Great system, but there are times when I'd like to turn it off.

PRC1963,
Welcome to the Arlo Community!
For the mode that you have selected in the schedule, you would need to be sure that the Mode for no motion is setup correctly. Here is how you could verify if the motion for that particular Mode is turned off. Go to Mode > Click on the pencil icon for the mode you want to edit (e.g All Motion Off) > Make sure there is a black check mark. If it is green that would mean that camera will be triggered by motion.
You could reference What are “Modes” & how do I use them? for further reference regarding Modes and Schedule.
Let me know if this resolves your issue. I will be looking forward to your response!

Nickjb,
Consider clearing out the existing schedule before you try to add a new time frame by tapping on the preset time frame and then tapping delete mode. You then should be able to tap the + icon in the top right hand corner of the screen, select the mode you want to add to the schedule and then set a start and stop time and click add.
Hope this helps!
