Looking for a little advice. I have a two camera system, one at my garage and one at my basement door. I haven't been picking up detection at my garage cam, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't....mostly doesn't. So to troubleshoot, thinking maybe it was a bad camera, I switched cameras and still the same issue. So the cameras are fine. The one at my garage can't be much more than about 100-125 feet from the base station that is in my basement. I have three out of four bars for my signal strength. Anyone have any advice as to why my garage camera will not detect motion properly?
I don't want this system if it is not going to do it's job 100% of the time. That one time when I need it to do its job and it doesn't could put my family in harm.
Thanks!
Rick

i have 9 cameras total, and sometimes I can stream them without error, and sometimes they error. Sometimes they catch video and sometimes they don't. Its randomly hit or miss.
This all started after the May updates, prior to that the system was working fairly reliably, its disappointing, it hasn't been "right" for about a month now.

This could be caused by interference, try isolating the issue by testing. Place a camera close to the base station and check it every once in a while, if you will still get an error then we could say its the software that is causing it.

Hmmm, I don't know if I necessarily believe interference is causing the issue of varied lengths of video. If I have it set to 10 seconds and I got less than 10 seconds maybe, then you could say OK its truncating errors or packets of data, but it happens random and on different cameras, and sometimes I get 11 or 12 seconds, a few extra seconds of video. If it was interference, you would always get less than your setting.
This is more than likely an issue with the software or timing mechanism that turns the camera/stream (recorded video) on and off.

Either way, Arlo needs to figure this out. You can't have a monitoring system that is only going to do random monitoring. My luck, the time it doesn't work is when I would have a snooper outside my house, prepping for another break in.
Really starting to regret just not going with a wired system.

On my part I have not experienced any issues with the motion detection.
-Made sure that the FW is updated
-Used positioning mode (and a phone) to make sure I have it on the location I want to monitor
-Used motion detection test to make sure the are is covered
-Made sure that the range of the camera isn't too far from the base station
-Made sure that the area I want to cover does not go outside the IR range of 15-20 feet

I have VMS3230 (not even listed under "Models", which tells you something). I want a camera mounted on my house front facing down the front walk to the street so I can see who is coming up the walk (14-15 paces) to the front door. It doesn't work. Sometimes records the last 2-3 paces, sometimes nothing. I've been trying to resolve this with the company since I purchased the system on 3/28/16. I have had 3 cameras at 4 different locations around the front door, with multiple sensitivities. Replacement camera, tech support seeing what I see, etc. Still not fixed.Read the claims. The actuals do not support the claims. Next step is to write HQ. Any suggestions?

mhking6,
It sounds like there may be an issue with the location of the camera. If you could private message me with your case number that you have open with the support team, I will review the case and offer any additional feedback that I can.
