New to Arlo.
And up and running with the Base Station and one camera - for now.
I happen to notice my Netgear Nighthawk Router (R7000) has a Enable Arlo / My Arlo option.
Should I check this box?
If so, then do I still need the Arlo base station?
Where will the videos (LIbrary) get stored - if I get rid of the Arlo Base Station.
so confused...

Videos are stored in the cloud (“library“) with either device.

What firmware is the R7000 running? There's a beta that supposedly fixes some issues along with Arlo support (1.0.6.40) but anything earlier has been pulled for issues apparently due to things not related to Arlo. All you can download from the support site is 1.0.4.30. If you go the beta route, be aware that there's a newer one out but that doesn't include Arlo support.

Not sure which firmware version I have - but last nite checked for updates and I have the current.
from what I am reading, may be best to keep both the router and the base station alone.
thx.

Post your actual firmware version. Just because it says you have the latest doesn't mean you do since the betas are updates.
As long as things work for you, all's well. I'm using the R7000 exclusively, no base connected, with no issues. I am using the beta firmware, however, since I received my router after the firmware was pulled from the official support page. I had to use the beta to be able to use Arlo with it. The betas primarily revolve around 2.4GHz and USB 3.0 issues but there could well be other things that are changing, too.

Router firmware is : V1.0.6.28_1.1.83
Also, IF I end up using the router and get rid of the Arlo Base Station, can I still use the IOS & android Apps?
thx

So, it would seem that you have one of the latest official firmwares before they got pulled (I think the last one was 1.0.6.30). As long as you're not having issues with it, you should be fine. I don't know that they changed the Arlo code in 1.0.6.40 that I'm running (the only beta that supports Arlo).
Yes, if you switch to the router everything works as before. You'll see no difference in either the app or browser interface other than what to select to activate the router in your account and how it's displayed in Settings and Mode tabs. One thing I have that's a minor annoyance is a popup on my Andoid app telling me that there's a firmware update for the router. However, it suggests that it's a January update and even if I try to install it it won't take so I just have to hit cancel when I first use the app. Maybe with your slightly old firmware version and/or iOS app you won't get this.
