Hi,
So I installed the wireless camera, and am having problems setting it up so it only detects motion when someone is at the door. At the moment, I've played about with the sensitivity. It either goes off all the time at around 60-80% (I've gone through one round of batteries!) even though nothing is there. So I set it to about 40-50% where it doesnt catch anyone at the door. Ive tried values in between, but still pretty useless. so I have several queries:
- my front door has a large window, the camera is pointed to this (from the outside). Could reflections from the window be causing sensitivity issues?
- I also have bushes in the distance in field of view. Do the leaves in bushes kick off the camera?
- Is there a patch upgrade or known issues?
Whats the opitimal sensitivity just to capture someone ringing a doorbell? So far ive played with different sensitivies for about a week and still hasnt managed to work properly!
thanks

Yes, a large glass window could be reflecting IR causing false triggers.... and so can leaves ( but not as much )
Tips I can give you are kind of limited ( if you post a picture could help );
1) Try not to cover to large an area
2) eliminate the reflection off the glass if possible by angle of camera
3) camera PIR is more sensitive on the edges ( and to cross traffic )
Morse is faster than texting!

Thanks for the recommendations. That confirms my thoughts that this product is not really suitable as a serious security monitoring solution for where I wish to install it. After a week of 'playing' with the settings, motion sensitivities and angles all I've achieved is to replace the supplied batteries once. My experience is it will start recording for the smallest thing even with <40% sensitivity. From what you have said this could be due to the reflections on the front door window. So I repositioned it to monitor the driveway, but it then started recording the movement of the leaves! Also so far it has failed to record people at my front door delivering stuff such as the postman or I get their back leaving the field of view.
It's a great idea and Im sure its great if you want to monitor indoors when you're away under controlled environmental conditions. However for a CCTV camera that seems to be affected with how the sun is shining on a window, or the wind is blowing on trees isnt really a reliable product. So, it looks like I'll be returning this product, and get my money back. Looks like PoE CCTV cameras with cat5 cables, and continuous monitoring is the only reliable solution currently until motion detection solutions can become more reliable.

Before you send it back, try turning the offending camera(s) upside down.
The field of detection will then be different.
It may solve your problem.
It did for me.
