someone entered my yard by opening a gate.  Camera failed to record him entering but recorded 2 occasions while he was in yard and showed him trying to get my huskey to leave with him as he closed the gate.  Very upsetting that camera didn't record him entering yard as I have no idea how long he was in my yard or what else he was doing that didn't get recorded.  I have 4 cameras and they all often record when there's no motion and often fail to record when there is motion,  I am so frustrated and annoyed at the low quality of Arlo Cameras! What's the point of security cameras that you can't rely on?

Post screenshots from the cameras - maybe that will provide clues for suggestions.

I hear your frustation- I don't trust there piece of crap cameras- NOT RELIABLE AND TAKES AROUND 15 SECOND OR MORE BEFORE IT START RECORDING WHEN THERE'S MOTION- That 15 seconds the robber could be pointing a gun in my head.........  The reason why it was rated so high is because of the ease of installation. For security cameras it's a joke !!!!!

I totally understand the frustration out there with these cameras.  They are so inconsistent.

For one of my cameras, I have positioned/placed it against all what Arlo and this community has stated to place it and it's night time recording is spot on.  Captures anyone/anything coming to my front door.

Like I said completely against what Arlo says but this particular camera consistently impresses me.

  • Positioned to high
  • Front facing

Most likely the worst position but look at the results.  My son who was coming home late one night.

nngnng,

If you are experiencing a delay that long in motion detection/ recording, it sounds like your camera may not be positioned for best performance. take a look at this article for tips on improving motion detection and ensuring your cameras are setup in such a way as to offer the best performance: Optimizing motion detection performance on Arlo Wire-Free cameras

My cameras are positioned properly and my batteries are full.  Not only do I have a delay in motion, etc but also my cameras don't always record when there is motion.  Geofencing isn't dependable as sometimes it senses when I come or go, and others times it doesn't.  It worked once today and failed 2 other times today!  I'm so disgusted with Arlo!!

Shiloh,

When using Geofencing it is important to be sure the app is always running on your mobile device. If you close the app or log out, it cannot update your location, which means the mode will not change. This could be why you're having trouble. You could also try increasing the size of the location radius in the Geofencing settings if you're still having issues.

If you could post a screenshot of what your cameras are facing that could help us determine why they may not be performing as expected.
