BTW, the other slide bar is SENSITIVTY even tho called "more vids - less vids"
It will take a few trial and errors to get it to record on motion all the time... angle down is best to keep sunlight/reflection of same out of motion detector ( that picks up IR change ) fiq 15-20 ft max +/-

Just purchased the Arlo Security! Awesome, easy to use and set up. Quick question, once motion is detected the recording is 10 sec. Is there a way to increase the recording time?
Thanks
Two things I thought I'd chime in about, amattiel:
1. As Tom mentions, you can set the recording up to 120 seconds. I [have 4 Arlos but] also have used two Dropcams for a year now. I almost never need to see more than 30 seconds worth of footage (but w/Arlo, I do set it for 60 seconds). So 10-120 seconds is a really good range to choose from.
2. Further, even if you set your detection recording to last, say, 30 seconds, should there be additional motion at the end of the recording -- and correct me if I'm wrong anybody -- your Arlo will consider it new motion and start a new 30-second recording or whatever length you have set it to record.
All in all somebody at Netgear is using their noggin!

But please provide a bit more details on how to edit the "rules" in order to increase the recording length. Thanks!

You just edit a rule and move the time slider to someplace between 10 and 120 seconds. Be sure to save.

I am a new user and I'll be damned if I can find a "rules" section. Dahh!
