Hi All,
Just intalled my system (8 cameras). There are 6 outside, 2 inside. I want to controll the groups separately.
So far I:
1) Created 4 modes to cover each combo. Do we try to set each camera (record or no) here, with the check boxes? If so, will the mode will control ALL the cameras, and it seems would overide others, since all cameras are in this group.
2) This is where I get confused. In Rules, I see 8 cameras, with the option to record on motion. How does the Rules interact with the Groups?
I still don't see any way to control the outside and inside camera groups with one click each- it looks like you would still have to go in and control each camera one at a time, separately.
Am I trying to do something that can't be done?

Create a bunch of rules for each camera (this is where you specify record or not) and then create a mode and choose the rules you want.
So, you can have, say, two rules for each camera: One to record and one to not record.
Then, say, you want the outside cameras to record but the inside cameras not to record.
Go into modes and create a new mode and select the record-enabled rules for the outside camers and the do not record rules for the inside cameras.

When creating a new rule, it seems that there is ONLY the path that you will will record on motion. Is setting the sensitivity to zero the way in which we turn the camera motion detect off for each rule?

No, you don't change the sense, you disable the rule in that Mode. Once the rule is working well, leave it alone.
If you have 4 cams and want oustside 2 on, you make a new MODE called Outside and toggle those two cams on ( the inside 2 will be toggled off ).
A couple of things to remember;
RULES say what the cameras do - record on motion for how long and email , etc
MODES say what cameras are turned on or off.
All the MODES will have all the same rules you have previouly made. The diff is if the camera is checked GREEN ( at line end ) for ON or BLACK for OFF

Thanks, I think they are working now.
Only thing (is this a BUG?), if I set a camera to 100% drnditivity, it doesn't matter if its off on motion - it records anyway?
Anyone else have this ?

It's very likely that something is still triggering the motion detection. Could be nearby leaves or even IR reflections from the sun, perhaps flickering through leaves/branches.
