There is no user manual included with the camera, so I have to ask here to find out about the camera's technical capabilities. Is it possible to disable the IR lights? They are too bright in close quarters and I would like to see what kind of images I can get at night with street lighting without the IR lighting.

At this time there is no way to turn on/off night vision. Take a look at this similar post.

Will this ever be part of it? My backyard is light enough in the areas I want the camera to cover but dark everywhere else (neighbors yard / parking lot / etc). I only need my backyard area.
Are there work arounds for this?

If it's light enough, the IR illuminators won't turn on and you may even get color rather than B&W.
