Can't get my system to record

Cameras have been up and running for months.  I would like to record video but I can't get the little grey man to change.  I need very simple instructions if possible.  Thanks

Go into the Mode tab and ensure that a mode that will record is selected. Use the schedule to automate the process for the future. A section with nothing in the schedule indicates the cameras are all off.
