Found my Android Arlo app updated this morning to version 2.0.2_11735.

The updates include, among others:

  • Fixed media playback interruptions when new media was added to the library.

Wonder what that pertains to. The missing videos in the library? Incomplete videos that record less footage than programmed in a rule? The green screen issue?

Anyone tested it yet?

One thing I noticed, that has been corrected, the library on the Android now matches the PC.

Thank you NetGear!

Well I take that back.

Library was only in sync after the installation.  Once cameras were activated, the Android does not capture the same nested rule recordings as the PC.

Netgear still needs to work on it.

Unfortunately, I have to report, that the issue with missing videos from the library on Android has still not been resolved.

In my case, I observed missing videos previously when I programmed two rules each for two cameras in a criss-cross fashion. One to record on the camera itself, and one to record on another camera close by. And vice versa.

So, in detail the rules are as follows:

  1. When motion is detected on camera A, record on camera A for 35 seconds.
  2. When motion is detected on camera A, record on camera B for 60 seconds.
  3. When motion is detected on camera B, record on camera B for 35 seconds.
  4. When motion is detected on camera B, record on camera A for 60 seconds.

In the Android app I can only see the videos from camera B. I also only got email alerts for camera B. In the web UI I can see all videos from both cameras. The fact that the problem appears to be asymmetric (even though the programmed rules are symmetric) makes me wonder if I should perhaps reset the cameras.

I restarted the base station from within the app several times. I have observed this on two different Android devices, one with the latest Marshmallow version from the beginning of this month (Nexus 5X), the other with Lollipop (Sony Z3).

This is quite disappointing. Please, someone of the moderators let the development team know. I will report back after resetting the cameras.

I have said this many times, stating the same problem you are experiencing.

I have received a response from JamesC and hopefully he has enough pull to get this thing resolved.  He knows of the problem so we will just have to wait and see for a fix.

One thing immediately noticed on the update, when viewing the library on my Nexus 7 is the screen doesn't automatically rotate to landscape.

So far the "nested" rules as above don't work as well as before the sw update in Dec/Jan... respose is prob still down by about 25%

But I have found that by deleteing all the custom modes that transfered over ( from older sw ) and rebuilding them ( exactly the same ) has improved response about another 25% of what it was.

Why it would make a difference I have no clue, but it does. And thats the best I have on this subject after quite a bit of testing.
