Hello,
I have the elite plan. I have three cameras. I just noticed today that all the videos (and there are a ton of them as it is an inside camera), have disappeared for one of my cameras. This happened during the day today. After this happened the recording are being recorded and saved as usual. But all the way back to the first date my plan has saved (the 60 days) the videos from this particular camera have disappeared from the website. This is extremely alarming as the only reason I have these cameras in the first place is to protect myself in an ongoing legal dispute (wanting to be able to prove where I was as much as possible).
So? What is going on here. All the videos from that one camera are gone from my library.

The same thing happened to me today on the camera I use the most (at my front door). See the other threads on this below:

Thank you. I did call and they said they are investigating the issue and that I was not the only one who had it. Hopefully the videos are still there. I have been downloading them (and thankfully I had done so this morning after having forgotten for a few days, otherwise I'd really be worried) via the Python script but I want them on the server too as that seems more "official" if I need to prove anything here with mine, as far as the dates and times go on them. Thanks again.

When using the Python scripts, be sure to add them to the computer scheduler. Can't tell you how to do that on a Mac but for Windows you can type "scheduler" in the start button search bar (if on W10, use the search "magnifying glass" next to the start button) and use that to add the task to run at a time of your choosing. Click on the Task Scheduler Library on the left and then Create Basic Task on the right. Follow the bouncing ball until you get to the Action section. For the Program/Script input box, use C:\Python27\python.exe or use the browse button to the location of your installation's python.exe. In the Add Arguments box, put in the location and name of the script you're using. Since my script is in the same place as the video downloads, I simply put the script name in the Arguments box and then use the optional Start In box for the location of the script and downloads (see image below). At the end, I'd suggest the check box to Open the Properties to fine tune your task. In particular, check the Conditions tab for any settings that affect you (wake up computer could be useful) and then in the Settings tab I'd recommend the top two boxes to be checked. Save and look back in the list of available tasks for the name of your task. Right-click on it and choose Run to ensure it works properly (scroll to the right to check the Last Run Result - should indicate successful completion with an error code of 0x0.

While I agree with the sentiment, there is metadata inside of the files that contains the encoding date and time in UTC time, so you don't need to count on the file names (which are easy to fake) to determine when they were taken. This would be difficult for an average person to change. Search for "MediaInfo" on the web for a viewer to be able to see this information.
I, thankfully, also use the scripts to download my videos, so I have all of my "disappeared" videos as well. But imagine those people that don't.

Thank you, I figured out how to do this now and that is a big help. Thanks again for the script and the help!

Ok that is great news, thank you! Prior to having the script, I was manually downloading to my computer and renaming the files with the times and thinking "well if I were trying to prove something with them would the opposition just not rightfully say I could have named those files whatever I wanted". Thanks.

Update: After about 36 hours, all of my "disappeared" videos have returned to my library. This is the 2nd time that a large number of videos have vanished and then, after a long time, returned to my library.

Personally, I think this is somehow related to the specific server used by your system. I ass-u-me that it varies according to location. Maybe building a list of servers could be useful. Try this in a command/terminal window (depends on the computer system you're on):
ping arlo.netgear.com
Pinging ArloProdLB-1815857678.eu-west-1.elb.amazonaws.com [52.16.17.159] with 32 bytes of data ;
Don't sweat the lack of response. Note that mine seems to be a west European Amazon server. A traceroute would possibly provide more details but this is just for a quick list. Seems like American users like me should be accessing a North American server, not European.
