Can I connect a arlo wire free camera to a netGear router - NightHawk X4 AC2350 R7500
If so how many cameras can I connect is there a max number ?

Nope, only the R7000 at this time. You can verify this by looking at the basic setup screens on any other routers where you won't find an Arlo setting.

Only after you manually or programatically download them. There's currently no automatic local storage for the wireless cameras. The only one that has somewhat similar capability is the Q Plus which has an SD card slot.
