You may want to read this forum thread below.  Many Arlo camera users has posted their experiences with the rechargeable batteries they have used that might help you decide what to buy:

At this point, none are recommended by netgear.... Opinions following are my own.

First and formost, others users have tried LifePo4 3v cells and they have NOT worked so stay away from them.

Myself and others have gravitated to 16340/123 type rechargeables at 3.7v li-ion type... they require a charger made for them. Most require more changes than the OEM due to the lower mahr ratings.

I've used GTLs, Ultrafires, and currently running Tangsfire... all available for less than about $4 a piece.

the first two lasted an avg of 40-45 days before going dead and the last (tangsfire) are currently at day 28.

Another user, Jeff, has gotton the best results at this time from Tangsfire, but I think ( he'll jump in here ) mostly has heavy use camera where he can record 30+ mins per day. For me they are also looking promising , seem a bit better than the other two, but I have 20+ days to go.

Its a crap shoot... buy 4, test them out and see what you think... think of it as a small investment.

I've recently changed camera locations so my heavy usage camera has become a light usage one (I hope!). That said, I expect the TangsFire batteries to last much longer than the others and have ceased using the UltraFire and GTL batteries completely. Time will tell, especially since the lighter use will extend battery changes, but I'm quite confident that the TFs are going to be my go-to batteries for the future. I'll be monitoring battery come winter as a separate task but I hope that's a long time in the future.

I'm planning to use TrustFire or Ultrafire batterries but since some of the guys are already using 16340's so I will be purchaisng AWT 16340 for testing. I have used AWT batteries and they have a very good performance (I hope they work fine with the cameras as well).

can tell you that Ultrafires rated at 2300mahr are really like 500-600 mahr ( don't know about trustfire, but seems like many from china are grossly over rated )

Have not found one yet that is truely more than half of the regular (non rechargeables) oem batteries.

oooohhhh.... I see Ultrafires 1200mAh available on local stores here so I was thinking about it. I have been using AWTs 18650 batteries and they have a really good performance (super high drain) and works a very long time, I will post an update on the other thread concerning battery performance once I have tested the 15340 versions.

From what I have seen on the tests done on 16340 AWT's, I am confident they will outperform the rechargeable batteries that end with fire.

I hope so, but i'll be honest I don't think so...

The AWTs are one of the  few properly rated cells, but their rating is still only 550 mAhr. The tangsfire are rated at 1000, but real world testing brings them in just under 700 mahr... the GTL/Ultrafires rated at 2300mahr come in at about 500-600mahr.... still in the similar range to the AWT

Also , In use we've ( Jeff and I ) have also found a diif in HI-drain and normal spec use of the Arlo cameras.

In hi-drain uses ( 30+mins record per day) I have seen 16340s come in at the equivalent to spec use  of over 65 days... In the real world they haven't lasted more than 50 ( for me an avg of 45 days ).

All I can say is good luck.

BTW, I have two light use ( 1-2 mins use per day max ) cameras running the OEM batteries since 2/24...

Well I think it would be great if more batteries were tested and why I based mine on tests that have been conducted by users of vapes and flashlights.  Nothing against the batteries ending with the name fire, but with Jeff's tests, it looks like the vape and flashlight guys were correct!  Of course, everyone's mileage will differ and as I said on a different post, I have chosen my battery based on my usage.

I think we are still in the infancy in testing rechargeables.

So far i am very pleased with the batteries that I am testing.  With a not fully charged battery and cutting the test short due to me leaving town for 3 weeks for work.  My results so far are better than what I expected, but again, I will see once my second test is complete to have a better assessment.

Battery was inserted in camera testing only 3.8v, 3 bars lasted 20 minutes, and before I stopped the test short, battery was at 2 bars for 21 days.

When removed, I tested the voltage at 3.55, so I think it had more to go while on just the 2 bars.

I have restarted the test and inserted the same batteries, this time, fully charged, in same camera, same usage and they currently are at 21 days at 3 bars. With an average daily use of 7 minutes per day, running 24/7.  Of course I will not recommend to the community until testing is complete.

I do thank you Tom and the others taking the time to test and I love the fact that you were thorough.

I hope my logic of following the vape and flashlight forums pays off.  🙂

For me, my OEM batteries have been lasting only 50-60 days on my usage, about 20 days at 3 bars.  Why I am so impressed with the rechargeables I am testing.  Same usage and nothing has changed, only the rechargeables.

With exception to TangsFIRE, as that particular battery, looks to be promising.

Where can you buy these batteries with the charger? Amazon?

In your case and others similar I def recommend using quality rechargables.... it only make sense for heavy usage.

60 days with OEM or 50+ days with rechargables,..Why spend $1.35 per when a good brand rechargable is about $10 per but will recharge at least 200x

And yes, choice based on usage is just plain smart.

Absolutely.  Now I have stopped monitoring my rechargeables as they are lasting me 50-60 days with my usage.  Still very happy with the EagleTac's and Nitecore D4 charger.

Charger is very consistent when charging and batteries length of use are also consistent, I couldn't be more happier!

thanks for the tip. I found the NiteCor charger on amazon. But where can I find the recharchable batteries?

Someone needs to call out Netgear for this stupid plan they came up with for a wireless camera without teaming up with a batteries company to make rechargeable batteries , sometimes you have to think they are all in bed together. The President of Netgear should be ashamed of himself, this product take more power to run than my whole house. I must note that i have 2 Samsung cameras and they are perfect.
