I need to monitor in a northern state where temps can drop to -25F. I was going to get around that by mounting cameras indoors and looking out through the window but i read where motion detection does not work through glass. Are there any other options available for me?

First , I've temps down to 0d and the cameras still ran ( tho there was a bug in th s/w that now looks fixed to (give false readings )).
Then, I'd consider if you had access to the home/cameras on a regular basis.
If you don't have ready acces and the cameras go off line due to what ever reason, at this time there is no way to re start them remotely.
If the above is the case, then I'd keep them inside the house to monitor there and then consider other options like hardwired cameras that have heated elements in the camera case...
The Arlo system is great addition to any security system, but really not designed to be a 24/7 security system... the advantages of Arlo are the wireless. ease of moving/placing location, waterproof ,setup.

Thanks for the reply TomMac. That all makes sense.
