The PoE adapter is too big and the cable from the adapter to the camera is too short. Is there a way to extend the cable from the PoE adapter to the camera so I can hide the adapter? Or should I wait for the Arlo Q Plus II to be released?

I don't have a Q+ to experiment with but there are Ethernet extension cables (male to female) as well as connector blocks (female to female) for the purpose of extending cabling. I can't imagine that wouldn't work.

The connection between the POE adapter and the camera is via a USB 3.0 micro B connection. I don't think anyone makes an extender for this connection type.
It is strange that Netgear would choose a USB 3.0 connector (and an obscure one at that) to make this connection as the bandwidth does not require it. I would guess they chose this based on the need to be compatible with the standard Q power cord and for some reason they needed more than just a USB 2.0 connection (which fits on one side of the connector). But in doing it this way, they made extending the connection impossible.

Thanks for the info.
I think it is a bad design which should have been obvious to Netgear. Who would want a big adapter 6 inches from the camera?
This BIG Adapter is required whenever you want to connect the camera directly to ethernet, even when it is not PoE. You also need both the PoE adapter & the power cable should you use ethernet without PoE. Too much clutter too near the camera!
I was all set to order one but now I have to think about it.

I use a POE injector (TP-LINK Gigabit PoE Injector Adapter TL-PoE150S) in order to minimize clutter at the camera end, but it would be nice if that big POE adapter block wasn't there. It's bigger than the camera.

My mistake - I was thinking of extending the Ethernet rather than the USB.

What were Netgear thinking?
