Add on camera

I want to add an additional camera to my system. My options are:

- buy and add-on camera ($155 at Amazon)

- buy a new system with one camera ($149 at Amazon)

My question: can I use the camera that comes with the new system and sync it with my current system? I would keep the base as a backup in case one day I need to replace it and save a few bucks 🙂
