what is max range for wifi signal to camera.  100' too far?

Can be, depending on what's between the base and cameras as well as other wireless devices on the 2.4GHz band that happen to be nearby.

Have seen it as low as 30 feet, and as high as 175 ft ...all depends what is in the way ( type of materials, etc )
