securing camera ideas

Just got my new camera yesterday and so far so good. One thing I noticed is how easy it would be to steal. I've positioned mine outside around 9 feet off the ground but can't help but think how easy it would be to knock down with a stick or some other object easily found in the yard.
Any ideas on how to make it thief proof?

you can use any standard threaded camera mount into the threaded bolt hole on bottom OR some put a small tether to the wall and attach it via the same threaded hole with a matching bolt ( so if knocked off, it doesn't fall more than 6 inches or so )
