Has anyone found a way to prevent the sun's rays from turning the camera on.  Early morning sun shining on the side of the unit seems to trigger the motion sensor and starts recording.  This runs down the battery quickly.  I tried a shade over the camera but it seems to block the sensor so that didn't work.  Any suggestions.

Other than relocating the camera, have you tried playing with the motion sensitivity on that camera?

If a lower sensitivity doesn't set off the camera when the sun rises, but still senses people, you could create another mode that is a clone of the mode that is active when the problem occurs. In the cloned mode change the rule for the problem camera by setting it to the lower sensitivity and schedule that mode to the sunrise hours. You may have to adjust the schedule for this mode every few days, as the sun rises earlier and earlier throughout spring.

Still requires some manual intervention, but is better than running down your batteries quickly or turning off the camera completely and leaving an area unprotected.
