Thanks very much I worked on it last night and it did change to standby at 6:00am. I am getting a better understanding of the new app. But it is alot different than the other one. Thanks again for your help. I will let you know how it went in a couple of days.

All I want is

  1. arm away to be armed all the time,
  2. arm home to follow a schedule armed at 11pm and disarmed at 6am every day
  3. standby to be disarmed all the time.

This suggests that you don't understand what modes are.  The system is only in one mode at a time, and the mode always behaves the same way (doing the same thing at midnight as it does at noon).

What I think you want is

  1. all cameras armed all the time when you are away from home
  2. all cameras armed between 11 pm and 6 am when you are home
  3. all cameras disarmed between 6 am and 11 pm when you are home

Is that the case?

  1. all cameras armed all the time when you are away from home
  2. all cameras armed between 11 pm and 6 am when you are home
  3. all cameras disarmed between 6 am and 11 pm when you are home

First check that Arm Home and Arm Away arm all your cameras (set up identically). This guide should help with that:

Next set up the two schedule automations that you need.

The first schedule automation runs at 6 am Set it up so it runs whenever the mode is already "Arm Home", and have it change the mode to "Standby".

The second automation runs at 11 pm. Set it up so it runs whenever the mode is already "Standby", and have it change the mode to "Arm Home".

At this point

  1. When you manually set the mode to "Standby" or "Arm Home", the cameras will follow your schedule. The mode will change to "Standby" at 6 am, and recording/notifications will stop. It will change back to "Arm Home" at 11 pm, and recordings/notifications will resume. Note the automatic behavior only happens at the two trigger times (6 am, 11 pm). So if you set the mode to "Arm Home" during the day, it will stay that way until 6 am the following morning. Similarly, if you set the mode to "Standby" after 11 pm, it will stay that way until 11 pm the following day.
  2. When you manually change to Arm Away, the cameras will stay armed until you manually change the mode - even if you are away for several days. Note if you manually change the mode back to "Standby", they will stay that way until 11 pm. If you manually change it to "Arm Home", they will stay that way until 6 am.

I suggest taking a couple of days to test this before moving on. Set to "Arm Away" in the evening, and make sure it stays in "Arm Away" for the next 24 hours or so. Then set it to "Arm Home" in the evening, and make sure that it is following your desired schedule.

There are some rough edges with geofencing, so one option is to just engage Arm Away manually when you leave, and then engage Standby or Arm Home when you return.

If you want to try geofencing as well, then first make sure your geofencing devices are correct (no duplicates, no devices that generally stay home or that only connect to wifi). To check this, you

  1. Press the profile icon (upper left)
  2. Select the privacy center
  3. Select the Account tab at the top
  4. Select "Available Geofencing Devices"

Your phone will be first. Remove the devices that you don't want to use for geofencing.

If you are using the "Friend" account feature, then this will also need to be done in the "Friend" account.

Once that is done, then set up a "Leave" automation. I suggest using the "Everyone Leave" option, and not specific devices. Set "Leave" to be always enabled (in all modes), and have it set the mode to "Arm Away."

You can similarly set up "Arrive" - using "Anyone Arrives", and also enabled in all modes. Have it set the mode to "Standby". Note that when you arrive home after 11 pm you will need to manually change the mode to Arm Home. Otherwise the cameras will remain on standby until 11 pm the following night.
