I have 4 Cameras all pointed at the same location.. They don't all see motion at the same time. some not at all. The recording time varies from 20 sec -100 sec. Why such a variation.? Night vision is usually black with imitated lighting

Check to see what you have the recording setting at.

Probably record until motion stops. Try set it to a fixed value. I have almost all of mine set to 10 seconds.

Not detectiong motion the same is very likely how the motion occurs for each particular camera. Remember that PIR motion detectors work best when motion is across the FOV, not at the camera, and that people detection is limited to ~20 feet.

The difference in recording times can be due to your choice of "record until motion stops" which again depends on the camera being able to detect motion before the ~5 second timeout that stops the recording due to not being able to detect motion. It could also be due to multiple cameras streaming at once, swamping your upload bandwidth and/or signal strength/quality between cameras and the base.
