Used arlo purchase

I was already looking into the Arlo system and then I saw one for sale second hand locally. Will I be able to transfer service into my account or is it not possible to use a pre-owned system?

I bought a refurbished system from Best Buy and initially couldn't register it because it was still showing registered to previous owner.  Talked to Netgear, emailed proof of purchase and they cleared it so I could register

If buying from an individual, that person has to remove all devices from Settings, My Devices to make the transition smooth to you.  WHen picking it up, have him show you the app and verify that nothing is showing there.
