Unable to Login to Arlo account on Smartphone

When I try to login to my Arlo account, I get the 2FA prompt, enter the code, and then get an error -  An error has occurred, please try again. I try a differnt verification method, same result. I uninstalled/reinstalled the Arlo app and restarted the phone. Same error.

My wife, on her smartphone is also having the same issue.

 

I can login OK  from my desktop computer. Just the smartphone is having issues with 2FA

    This behavior should now be resolved. Please try logging into your account again.

Similar problems now for me and I see this thread goes back months and the issue is still not fixed. Turning off the wifi or clearing cashes is crap. This is an Arlo issue and they want to blame their users for the problem. There are too many different users with too many different devices for this to be anything but an Arlo problem.

I would like to receive an update on this also. I have had my system for years and suddenly cannot login to my mobile device. It actually crashed out of the app while I was viewing my cameras live. Wanted me to login and I haven't been able to get in on the mobile device yet. I am able to access via my PC, but not my mobile device.

@BobbyBoy1 Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to see if that helps? Is it giving you an error when trying to log in?

I'm unable to link my Arlo account/devices to Smartthings. I either get a 'invalid factorid' or 'session timed out' message, never getting past the login screen. I've tried on an Android phone, a Fire tablet and a Windows 11 laptop.

Unable to log in using my iPhone gives me an error message saying:  Verification method removed choose another method to continue.  I am able to log in online on my MacBookPro.  I use the same user name and password which is the correct one.

@RuntR can you try removing the app completely, restarted the phone and then re-downloading the app and see if you are able to log in. If you are on an iPhone make sure all open pages are closed from the background as well.

I am currently having the same issue - An error has occurred.  I've tried the recommendations.  What's going on?

@PJandD have you tried to turn off the Wi-Fi. Also, have you closed all open pages, logged out and then logged back in? Restarted the device you are using? Can you send a screenshot of what you are seeing after doing those steps?

Oddly enough, it just started working again. It did ask me to confirm my device as a trusted device, with a pin, however. 🤷🏼‍♀️
