Hi everyone,
If you are dealing with the recent app update bug where the iOS Arlo widgets constantly flicker or glitch the second you try to tap "Play" to view a live stream, I found a perfect workaround that completely skips the glitch and loads the feed instantly.
The Fix:
Instead of tapping the widget normally, press and hold (long-press) the camera preview window on your iPhone home screen.
Why it works:
Using iPhone's Haptic Touch forces iOS to open a native peek preview window. It completely bypasses Arlo's broken widget rendering code, stopping the flickering loop and loading the camera feed way faster.
Important Note/Trade-offs:
Because Apple treats this as a temporary preview window, it will disappear the second you let go of the screen. You also won't be able to rotate the screen or use the camera microphone while holding it. However, if you just need a lightning-fast, glitch-free look at your cameras (like checking the driveway or yard before letting the dogs out), this works flawlessly until Arlo pushes an official app patch!
Hope this helps save some frustration for other iOS users!
