...in the most recent update, I can add both current basestations in a trial of arlo secure software features but it will not allow me to add back cameras to my second basestation without a subscription.  My home environment no longer secure.

...the second basestation and cameras on the second basestation could be added but not activated without a subscription under the updated app and trial software.  Without activation there's no video from the second basestation cameras in the app.  Life moves on.

You can add cameras without a subscription, so something else must be going on.

Why were you trying to reinstall the cameras and bases?  Are all these devices  in the same account?

...they were successfully added but they are not active stating that I need to have a subscription I guess different from the current trial.   I uninstalled everything on the seconded base including the second base and did eventually get two to work so I tried again but again all say that I need another subscription.  I had to reinstall originally because after the update no devices were presented in the view.

The trial subscriptions are for individual cameras - it is puzzling that it didn't kick in for the ones on the 2nd base.  That said, re-activating the trial after the migration to "Feed" is just a promotion (Arlo is hoping you will subscribe when the trial ends).

  1. What model cameras are these?
  2. How many cameras do you have in the account?

..thanks for responding.  I have moved to a real keyboard now and will elaborate just a bit more.  I have many other camera types wired and wireless across my property(ies) and have been looking for alternatives to my Arlos at this point.  After the app update VMB3010r2 basestation 0 and 1 were added without any issues. Both were present in the prior app.  All five VMC3030 were added successfully and auto activated to basestation 1.  When trying to add the next two VMC3030 cameras to the basestation 0 they were added successfully and not activated.  I tried adding the next two VMC3030 and got the same result.  I deleted the cameras from the basestation 0, exited the app, and manually added the first two cameras onto basestation 0.  They were activated when I relaunched the app and I had video.  So, I tried the same for the next two and while added they were not activated.  Then my impatience kicked in a bit, and I just removed all cameras from basestation 0 then removed basestation 0 from the app.  That's when I lost ground again.  I could get the basestation and cameras back in the app, but none of the cameras would activate which is where I sit now.  These basestations and cameras have been flawless since originally purchased what seems like decades ago.  If not mentioned, all basestations and cameras have the latest firmware.

How many Arlo accounts are you using? Are you using the "Friend" account feature?

...finally found a path to arlo support via websales team and while the chat download did not work, basically they said that the second basestation and cameras would only work if i purchased a subscription for the first basestation and cameras with unlimited devices. At that time all basestation devices and cameras at the same address would be activated in the app. No response to the question regarding if they were on different network segments or different networks at the same address.

That depends on what you think "work" means.

Free cloud storage

  • is limited to legacy cameras, all models introduced after the Ultra in 2018 or later require a paid subscription.
  • is limited to accounts with 5 or fewer unsubscribed cameras.

But installation, livestreaming, and motion detection alerts do not require a subscription.

Also, the unlimited subscription would cover all cameras on on both bases (as long as they are in one location).
