i have had the cameras for 2 days. today while i was at work it went offline for 4 hours. it had done an update the first night and had been okay for more than 24 hours.

i had to get the ladders back out to open the camera battery compartment and went through all other trouble shooting with support.  they still wouldnt stay online for more than a few minutes.

not something i should have to contend with after 48 hours of ownership especially with a security item that shouldnt have downtime at all ideally.

i'll be going for a traditional cctv setup.

marc_knuckle,

This issue could have been due to poor signal strength between the base station and the cameras. Interference could have caused the cameras to struggle to maintain a connection with the base station, resulting in the cameras dropping offline. Be sure the cameras are not too far from the base station and make sure they have good WiFi signal strength (WiFi signal strength is displayed on the cameras screen in your Arlo account for each camera).

Thanks for the reply. The camera wifi signal showed full. They were about 12 feet and 30 feet away.
I've now returned them.
Thanks anyway

Do i need to deactivate the account now? I removed the cameras and deactivated the base station in the app. Anything else i need to do?

marc_knuckle,

That is all. If you had subscribed to a plan you would need to cancel the subscription, but if you were on the Basic plan, no further action is needed.
