To whom it may concern: I recently purchased the Arlo wireless systeme with two cameras from Costco. I am wondering how long or how much recording is taken place once the motion detector is tripped? For example, if there is a backyard birthday party that lasts for 8 hours, will the camera record for eight hours? If so, is it stored in the cloud for the full eight hours and any additional recording for 7 days? What is the amount of data stored in the cloud?
I guess long story short, how much actual recording time is recorded for 7 days? Then does the recording cycle start all over.
Thank you

First of all you can record automatically when motion is detected from 10 to 120 sec (if motion continues, after short break, it would do another such recording and so on until motion stops or batteries die.
Or you can start recording manually, and cam will continue recording until stopped or 30 min pass. Ten you can start again and again until battery runs out ( You would get 8-12 hours on a battery set).
In theory you can store 1 GB data in the cloud; in practice this is no longer metered and it stores the recordings for 7 days, giving you plenty of time to download.

Thank you
So after the 7 days, then it records all over again and gets rid of all the previous recordings?

correct, on the 8th day the 1st day's recordings are deleted, and so on.
But this id for the free cloud. You can buy a monthly subscription for longer retention

Keep in mind that using the app, you can turn off inidividual cameras in the event that there will be lots of activity and you dont need recording or want to save battery life.
