I've got to Arlo wire-free cameras.  They are both about the same distance from the base station in a clear line of sight.  The base station is in a second story window aimed slightly down and the cameras are about 80 feet away, each about 30 feet to the side.

I can view both cameras with no issues through the Arlo app.

However, only one of the two is detecting motion.

I've verified that the settings are identical between the two, both at a camera level and at the rules level.  The second cameras simply doesn't see any motion at all.

Anyone had this problem?  Could it simply be defective?

Yes, it could be defective.  However, there are things to check/try.

Are the firmware versions the same in both cameras?

Open and close the battery door to reset the camera.

Swap cameras and see if the issue follows the camera or the position.

Remove the camera from Settings, My Devices and resync.

Last resort, create a trouble ticket with support for more troubleshooting and a possible RMA.
