Good to see reversal of EOL cutting off 7 day rolling, which I considered a breach of the contract created by me buying the product in the first place with that as a function. Personally could get away with 3 days and local storage, but some immediate storage is a must.

BUT!!!!!! I went out and purchased at a cost of $AUD260 a Pro 4 camera, and more than the poor video at 15 fps which I understand over WIFI, is the total redesign of the product taking the magnet out of the cameras, and putting it in the mount, and changing the design around the charger to the point the cameras are no longer stable when just sat on a flat surface!

BUT!!! back to the magnets, the feature of the first arlo and arlo pro allowed them to be easily moved around outside (did the designers forget these were supposed to be outdoor cameras) and just plonked on steel rails and walls of sheds, the water heater, whatever,  and where only wood existed, the dome mount was extremely easily stuck on a nail just hammered into a post or whatever.

Forget your infatuation with security, arlo haven't even added a feature to embed a timestamp into recorded videos, the only use to me and my friends was that they could be moved around outside easily to watch what stock were doing, or capture the antics of wildlife that visited, but as for security! Forget it, the fps/resolution combination limited by wireless will never allow quality required for security and prosecution follow-up.

The new cameras with no flat base and no magnet and a new mount that has some flimsy little bit of plastic in it that'll be lost or broken very easily, make this only useable when permanently installed in a single location, and if that was my need, I'd run Ethernet cable with POE and get a quality camera rather than these toys.

If you don't believe me, just go to sites like https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-arlo+ultra/k0?categoryRedirected=true and see how many of the late model Ultra camera are on sale already.

I had written a utility to archive locally stored videos into a structure storing by Date and Camera Alias rather than one big sink hole where all are named by the 13 character uninterpretable Serial Number because Arlo have done nothing in terms of software development in the years I've owned this equipment they now want to EOL, but I can't use these new cameras as currently redesigned and I can't understand paying over a $1,000 for poor security footage just to get a beep on a phone and talk to someone who has arrived at the door when you are away.

Let's get real Arlo before the who ship sinks with Ring and Uniden in the vicinity to pick up the survivors. I've been very disappointed with the lack us software and feature development over the years and now the new camera design has just killed the product line for me.
