firmware - 1.7.3_5005, Hardware - VMB3010r2, Version - 2.0.3

After it gets dark there are no alerts.  During the day if a car goes down the street I get an alert.  If a car goes down the street after dark I do not receive an alert.

In the rules I'm using "All Motion On".  I have no schedules set. Everything else works great.

What about close-up detection, anywhere up to 15-20 ft?

Try creating a new (custom) mode with identical rules; vary the detection sensitivity, try out a few things and see how the system behaves.

Detecting cars in the street I don't think is what Arlo was built for. I'd call it out-of-the-ordinary detection. Nothing one should rely on. Use it in relatively tight spaces up to 20ft detection and (night) vision range.

Agreed... the windows of cars in the street reflect a lot of IR in daytime setting off the camera...

Test it at night by walking up to it ...usu max range for the PIR is about 20ft in normal settings ( except car reflections of sunlight )

PS, aim it down a bit too, unless you want to pick up the cars (?)
