I have ten arlo pro 2 cameras on two different routers.  All have worked well for years.

The new software was forced on my system and for a month I have tried to get it to work.
All I want is simple. for my cameras to be armed at a set time (say 8:30 pm) and to disarm in the morning (say 7 am)
I have read and tried but it does not allow a simple system. I can arm, but then it does not allow me to disarm. I can dissarm but then there is no option to arm. I try custom and it makes no sense, no options allow a simpl arm disarm schedule.
At the moment I am trying "arm home"  then under automations I have created an automations that I call 'turn on at night' which only allows me to arm the system . No other options are available othe than this one I created. I can not dissarm in the morning.

So then I have to go to standby.. which if I forget to arm then I have no security at night.

I just want something simple that works.  Like it used to. What possible benefit is this new software update other than to drive users to a different system?

You want two automations.  The first changes the mode to "Arm Home" at 8:30.  The second changes the mode to "Standby" at 7 am.

Now the part that likely tripped you up before.  You want to go into each of the three standard modes and make sure the automations are correctly enabled.

  1. The automation that switches to "Arm Home" should be enabled in both "Arm Home" and "Standby"
  2. The automation that switches to "Standby" should also be enabled in both "Arm Home" and "Standby"
  3. Both automations should be disabled in "Arm Away".

If you set it up this way, the cameras will remain armed 24x7 when you manually change the mode to "Arm Away", and will resume when you manually set it to "Arm Home" or "Standby".

Ok, I Chose “automations”

Then I hit the + sign and “add schedule”

I set the time to 20:30 and clicked each day sun-sat
it would not let me save it without a name so I named it “turn on at night” and saved it.
Then under  “then Add an Action”  I had it switch to Arm at Home

I saved it.

Went back to “add schedule”

Set the time to 7 am clicked each day su-sa, named it “turn off in the morning” and saved it
then under “Add an action” I chose “change modes”  to “standby”

Saved it.

Both modes are now checked under Arm at Home and Standby.

Is this correct?

I will test this now to see If it works.
Thank you for explaining this.

Your description sounds correct. If you run into problems, post screenshots of the new Automations.
