New Arlo Kit, out of 4 sets of batteries, 3 sets are drained

I purchased the 2 arlo wire free camera kit. Installation was straight forward. The kit came with 4 sets of batteries. It appears that all but one set is bad and the camera kept going offline after a few minutes and arlo started sending me low battery message. After cycling through the batteries in a couple of days, I called arlo support.

 

I was asked to follow instructions to test the battery and call back next day. I was offered two options. 1) return the product to where I purchased from 2) Netgear will replace 1 set of betteries not the 3 set that are defective. I argued that all three sets needs to be replaced but I was told it is the policy and the other option for me to return the product.

I called back the day after to report that battery drained (without recording) and hoped it will be an easy call and get at least 1 set battery replaced. Instead went through a series of questions and was told camera is bad and Netgear will replace if I sent it back. I told them it is not camera issue but the batteries but Netgear decided it was the camera this time.

 

Now I need to test this camera with the one set of good batteries and call back... later.

 

I dont know if anyone has the same batteries issues like me. I expect the batteries shipped as part kit to be good and not drained.

I think I made a mistake. Should have gone for NEST camera.

I'd say at least get the Arlo Pro cameras that have a built in rechargeable battery
