After logging in on the website I clicked on the dialog box that opened and BOOM, I got a horribly botched new UI.

I lost the means to configure each camera independently with geofencing. I lost the means to configure any of my 4 Arlo Q (which is 50% of my cams). I cannot rollback to the previous version. I see other people in the forum begging to return to the previous version, only to be answered with PR BS "we are listening to your feedback…" promising new features that haven't been delivered in a year. Now why would I trust or continue paying a company that uses the lock-in from my existing hardward to strip me of the features I was using and force me to buy new cameras and more subscriptions? No way, never again! How did you dare? I'm never seen such an insulting move from a company towards their customers. REVERT MY ACCOUNT (it worked until one hour ago), I know it must be technically possible!

Once on the new UI there is no way to revert to the previous version. All cameras should still be working as expected. The way you set up the cameras is a tad bit different you can start here:

Custom modes at this time are not available to all users, however we are hoping to have it available to everyone soon.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

REVERT TO THE PREVIOUS VERSION! If I could have it while others had migrated, it must still work. I'm an engineer, and I know you can do it, but you refuse to acknowledge the horrible downgrade that is your new version. Switch it back for me.

@Edou as I had previously stated there is no way to go back to the previous version.

If you have any questions on the app, let us know and we would be more than happy to help.

Are you saying that if I "upgrade" to "feed" UI (from "library") that I will lose access to per-camera geofencing? What else???

Please outline ALL functionality reductions that occur when changing to the new UI so your paying users can make an informed decision.

I don't work for Arlo...

Anyway, with the new UI

  1. Subscriptions are limited to one address.  So if you have a subscription now with cameras in multiple locations, then geofencing all the cameras at both addresses will require another subscription.
  2. If you have multiple accounts (sharing cameras), then you will not be able to see all cameras from all accounts at the same time (either for livestreaming or viewing recordings).  Each account will have its own location, and you'll have to first select that location to see the cameras in that account.
  3. The new UI currently has only three modes for each location (Arm Away, Arm Home, Standby) that control all cameras at that location.  You can customize all three, so you can get get three combinations of armed cameras with this approach.  This of course does limit geofencing and scheduling combinations.  Arlo is beginning to roll out the custom mode features you have in the current UI as an option, but that isn't completed yet.
  4. If you aren't using custom modes (again not fully available), then when you return home the geofencing automation can only switch to one named mode - it won't switch to the mode you have scheduled.  To clarify this, if your cameras are normally armed at night, and disarmed during the day, then you'll either need to always arm them when you return, or always disarm them when you return.  Then adjust manually if needed.

I was migrated to the "new" UI back in 2023, so might be forgetting something.  Many things are handled differently in "Feed", you might want to review this article:

If you want more tailored advice, then start your own discussion thread and let us know what cameras you have, subscriptions (if any), whether you have multiple accounts, scheduling and geofencing details.
