Hello.

One of the original Arlo's cameras, from early 2015, is acting weird with camera blurriness (cleaning didn't work), not streaming, its third party holder screw isn't removable and makes it hard to remove its two CR123 batteries, etc. I even tried replacing its batteries, removing, and resynching. No improvements. 😞

What are good replacements for it that will work with old VMB3010r2 (original Arlo) and VMB4000r3 (Arlo Pro 2), and possible future base stations? Both of them have their own e-mail addresses and no paid subscriptions. IIRC, there is a limit of five so I can add one more to each base station. I'd like cameras with rechargeable batteries instead of the annoying CR123 batteries. Are there any good ones from Amazon?

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. 🙂

Information on base station compatibility is here: https://kb.arlo.com/000062284/Arlo-SmartHub-and-Base-Station-Compatibility

If you want 7 day cloud storage and outdoor cameras, you are limited to the original Arlo cameras, Pro, and Pro 2 models.  Pro 3, Pro 4, Ultra, and Essential cameras all require a subscription for cloud storage.

Thank you, StephenB. Does Arlo still sell these stand alone old camera models? I see Amazon, but from third parties like in https://www.amazon.com/Arlo-VMC4030P-100NAR-Wireless-Security-Rechargeable/dp/B07VMDCQCJ/ / https://www.amazon.com/Arlo-VMC4030P-100NAR-Wireless-Security-Rechargeable/dp/B07RCWZHL1/.

They aren't listed on shop.arlo.com, and I doubt they are manufacturing them anymore. So you would probably have to purchase used cameras.

Pro 4 and Essential cameras can connect directly to your home wifi, but you would need a subscription for them.

Wow, this camera went bonker again to be triggered every minute until its CR123 batteries died! It's time to retire and replace it!

FYI. So far, eBay's brand new Arlo Pro 2 camera works perfectly. 🙂 Old one is acting too sensitive even if facing down to block. I had to turn down its sensitivity. Maybe that hardware part is broken.

Just be aware that eBay cameras have no warranty, even if new. The vendor has to be an authorized one to be able to get warranty support.

Which vendors are still selling Arlo Pro 2 cameras these days?
