I would like to start out saying I love the wireless Arlo caemra system as Im sure many here do but it seems Netgear is aware of a battery issue based on the many complaints I have read here which is going to include my own. I cant wrap my head around how such a brilliant produxct can be created and yet the engineers fall asleep at the wheel and dont market a battery pack recharging system with better quality lithiom ion batteries. I was shocked to not see one for sale under an accessory section on the Arlo website. I am showing a low battery power red warning light on 2 of the 4 cameras and the other 2 only have 2 bars which is a huge problem. The system was expensive at $499.95 at Best Buy and the salesman assured me there was a rechargable battery available and that the batteries would last months under normal use, not days. I have researched the other comments here stating I should check the cameras software to see if it is current and I actually have the newest version of 1.2.2.688. If it is not the current one, there is no "update software button" anywhere within the firmware.
Anyone with any insight on how to deal with this before I post it to social media sites would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance,
Roger in Manchester, NH

I just bought the 4 camera system from Best Buy yesterday. One of my cameras was set to 100% motion detection and recoreded over 200 times last night. The battery went from 3 bars to 2 in the span of 8 hours. Check your rules for the cameras and adjust the motion detection down. That should help with your battery life.

Many people have different results with batteries...
First, I can only say that I still have two lightly used cameras with OEM batteries that have been in use since 2/24 showing full. My other cameras run on rechargeableas and i get 40-55 days with normal use ( avg time is about 45 days ).
You have to remember these are not 24/7 record camera systems... but more of a motion based and average use of the cameras by spec is about 4 mins per day to achieve the long term battery life of over 3-4 months . like all batteries, if you use them more then the life time shortens.
Second, I can understand why Netgear doesn't want to be in the battery business. There are many rechargeable batteries on the market that will work ( and at least 6 have been tested by users ) so maybe you should read thru the threads and check it out.
Arlo is a very good system for me and fits my needs/wants. It may not be for you and you do have a right to try a different system that may
Edit;
PS.. it is normal that many will use the system alot during setup, once settings are prefected, battery life increases due to normal use

Thanks for your input TOMMAC but the post wasnt asking for input telling me I have a right to go with another system, as I already know my rights and have already stated in the post I purchased the system already and liked it I also was not asking if the system was right for anyone else for that matter. So I dont know if you think your post was helpful but I can assure you it was not.
If you want to post here, try and keep your sarcasm at a minimal and maybe you would get a better response.
I never said anything about Netgear wanting to be in the battery business and I am also aware there are many after market battery chargers with batteries as well. Please dont confuse common sense with intelligence as they are both very seperate with most people, emphasizing the word "most".
The engineers for Netgear have stated the batteries are not qualified at just 3 volts and should be at least 3.6 or 3.7 in the same CR-123 Size and will last much longer on a recharge than the typical 3 volt. So now you have some correct already researched information to give to others that you didnt have before.
Regards,
Roger C.

Looks like someone been drinking tooo much coffee
And if you had read the battery threads you would have seen the problems as to 3v rechargeables was already known .
Also If you would read the cells testings in the battery threads, you would know that NO 3.7 v li-ion battery in a 123/16340 size could possibly have that much mahr .( 2000mahr ratings you stated you just ordered from Amazon )
It just can't physically fit. Best you will find is about 750mahr rating in the real world and you'll get a max of about 45 days spec use.

I believe after you read the correspondence between this person and myself you will plainly see he is trying to instigate and provoke your community by his responses to my concerns that were not even directed to him. His continued sarcasm can be plainly seen in his comments and I have made it clear I do not wish to hear from this individual due to his continued ignorance. Please advise him to no longer contact me about this thread I posted in reference to low battery warnings. Thanks in advance.
Dude, get a life and dont respond to any other postings from me. A** clown

rsan105042,
Are you noticing the battery drain on one or multiple cameras? It could be due to more activity occurring on the specific camera that is low or poor signal strength. One way to isolate the issue further is to swap locations of the affected camera with a camera that is behaving normally. Please let us know the results!
