Is anyone else having trouble streaming a camera from a browser?  I used to be able to stream all cameras from the browser without issue.

For me it works randomly, then stops working entirely until I close the tab and re-login.  All camera models I have connected fail; Pro's, Pro2's, Pro4's, Pro5's (of course), doorbell cams, etc..

I can consistently have an error streaming from all cameras but from my phone (Arlo App), on the same network, works every time.  Sometimes after I successfully stream from my phone, the browser works.  But then stops working 10 mins later on the browser.  Once in a while I get what looks like a REST API error in orange at the top.

I have tried the following:

- 3 different browsers; Chrome, Firefox, Chromium. (yes, cache and cookies cleared)

- 2 different machines; Linux and Windows 10

- tried a hotspot to rule out home firewall

- Cameras are on home WiFi and basestation - all throw out errors randomly

All have failed, except using Arlo App which works all the time.

Please dont tell me to:

- reboot my router - the Arlo App works on the same network

- reboot the basestation - cameras not on the basestation fail

- WiFi signal - Arlo App works on same AP

- re-install the OS and browsers

- adjust firewall settings - Arlo App works from the same firewall which is wide open and I tried a hotspot to get around it

I thought Arlo used tcp/443 for most things until i saw: mqtt-cluster-z2-1.arloxcld.com:8084 being used.

Anyone else having issues or is it me only?

Using my Chromebook and Chrome, I just tried several cameras (both wired and battery, both connected to my hub as well as just WiFi) and had various results. Some connected fairly quickly, some never connected. Leaving the page I was on when trying live view and then returning allowed most to then work but not all. Unfortunately, I can't say whether that's a web client or server issue although it would seem to point to the client. I did note that those that never connected did update their thumbnail so some portion of the connection worked

@JamesC , @ShayneS , @BrookeN any thoughts?

Hi @GeneralMeow

Thanks for the reports and detailed info. I was able to replicate some similar symptoms. I let the team know and I am waiting for more information.

Thanks God I am not alone! I am also having the same problem in Firefox right now. I even rebooted my hub! I also noticed my iPhone's iOS app doesn't connect to any camera's live streams when I hit play for both original Arlo and Pro 2 models.  So, it doesn't seem to be only web browser issue, but apps (Android too?) too. A few motion detected recordings don't seem to show up in my Library too even though my iPhone's iOS app notified me about them. Is this the same for the rest of you too? https://status.arlo.com still shows all good. 😕

Now, https://status.arlo.com/ shows a partial outage.

I've been having similar issues since at least 8:15AM this morning. No live feed in the app nor browser, nor any recordings or notifications. My feeds into Homekit are working perfectly though.

It looks like things are working again on my end. What about the rest of you?

The Arlo development team is currently investigating reports of this behavior. We will provide an update as soon as we have more information to share with the community.

Thank you for the updates, ShayneS. I hope we/I will get our/my missing automated motion detected cloud recordings back too.

I hope my original problem is still being looked at after the outage kerfuffle that seems to have been fixed.

Live camera feed still is broken in the browser.

Yeah, Firefox still can't play my original Arlo and Pro 2 cameras live. They show "Please wait... [OK]" and then "The request timed out" after a few minutes.

Both original and Pro 2 cameras' live feeds are working again my PC's Firefox web browser.

While I agree it's somewhat working now, its still sporadic for me.

Its significantly better than before, but a got 1 timeout so far and a few times it took ~15 secs to bring up the live feed.

It started working better around 6:30pm  EDT.  Can this be a server/backend load issue?

I primarily use Linux and Firefox.  I will continue to test into the night and early morning.

Looks like it's working now. I just tried many different cameras with no issues.

agreed.

Seems to be MUCH better now.  Overnight it was still a little slow in bringing up a live feed but didnt time out.  Now its fast.

Did anything change on the Arlo backend to fix it?

Who knows? Likely but that sort of info usually isn't available.
