When viewing the library for past events and recordings, when holding my phone or tablet vertical, there are three thumbnails on each row. When horizontal, there are six thumbnails in each row. Is there any way to change the size of the thumbnail so they are bigger, displaying two per row when vertical, and three per row when horizontal?

Nope. The app is the app and you can't change that display.
