Image under video setting and actual video are different. How to get actual image for night?

The Images under video setting and the actual video are different. How can I get the actual image for night.

Is the Night vision turned on... ?

Also remember that the IR illumination does have a max range of about 20-25 ft for the Arlo HD

External lighting can make a huge difference

 

the small stump center ( about 2-3 ft high ) is 27 ft away
